“We both come from a strong retail background, working in family businesses,” says Raj, “but we wanted to operate a managerial enterprise – work on our business, rather than in it – and see higher rewards for our efforts. The Jani-King (GB) franchise appealed because it offered a proven business model with a guaranteed turnover, and access to some incredible customers – businesses like Odeon, H&M, Wagamama, Diesel, Russell & Bromley, and Café Rouge.”


 
“Yes, when we started, back in 2004, we knew there would be a lot to learn but we were never short of new customers – some of them inspirational.” Anita explains: “Our work brings us together with other professional businesses, and their reputation depends on ours. In September 2010, we began servicing our 91st customer: Odeon Leicester Square.”


Raj continues, “Within the London region, our vision is unlimited but our plan is to double the size of the business. We’re already servicing almost 100 customers and turning over £1.2m per year – so we know that’s a realistic and achievable goal. Targeting national and regional customers means that we need to be on top of our game … but we’re enjoying the journey. Can’t wait for the next challenge – ”
